PAF humbuckers modelled on the years 1957 to 1960. Every pickup is wound by the same person and assembled by hand.
Through Lucas Guitars, I deal in guitars. Steeler Pickups are my own hand-wound humbuckers.
The blueprint is the PAF of 1957 to 1960. I wind every pickup myself and assemble it by hand, using parts made in the USA to the exact specifications of the originals. My workshop is near Stuttgart.
The goal: a PAF with clear string separation that cuts through, responds to your picking and has a balanced output in the range of the early PAFs. The winding alone doesn’t make the tone. Every part matches the vintage PAFs right down to its metal alloys, and only the combination of all these small, correct parts creates the sound in the end.

“A good PAF doesn’t turn a chord into mush. You hear every string on its own.”
Which magnet, potting and cover suit your guitar is best worked out directly.
